The next generation of driver's licenses will be known as Enhanced Drivers Licenses and they will have RFID. The TSA has now implemented rules that stop the honoring of Drivers Licenses from states that support enhanced driver licenses.

In the meantime a company in Wisconsin asked their employees to embed an RFID chip under their skin to act as a security chip for access to the office.

Originally RFID was designed for Nearfield Communications and is heavily used in retail stores to catch shoplifting. But the new Gen B RFID's have a longer range and can be read up to a distance of 30 meters. This means that our activities can be tracked just by being within a 30 meter proximity of a sensor. So will we be automatically tracked at traffic lights, entrances of nuildings? It's already used heavily now for traffic Toll tracking. We don't bat an eyelash at another way our privacy is curtailed.
