Preventing Eavesdropping on your Computer Mic

Here's a simple trick that would solve most cases of eavesdropping via your computer's microphone.

Go to your Settings (Sound) on Windows, or Preferences (Mac) - Sound, and look for the Mic input settings. Find the volume control of the mic and set it to 0 Level. Since a Mic is user controlled, muting it in this fashion will prevent inadvertent listening.
