A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is the number one defensive tool against Man-in-the-Middle attacks, HTTPS spoofing (by employers), IP address tracking and location tracking. This is the most important item in your toolkit. If you're not using a VPN, then any other defensive measures become moot because you expose yourself anyway.
A VPN will prevent your ISP from seeing your traffic since all they will see is encrypted traffic. Bytz VPN does not record your IP address so it does not know where the traffic is coming from. There are also no transaction logs so there's no record of what you're doing on the Internet.
What VPN should you use? For many years I've been recommending the popular VPN PIA which is the cheapest and was an excellent performer. Then it got zucked up. They started blocking email (SMTP). Too many people on their serves meant inconsistent performance. Then they became too well known and websites started blocking their IP. Or if not blocking them outright, companies like Google barraged you with Capcha codes and puzzles.
Here's the issue. If I have to turn off a VPN, even for a moment, one of those cookies that identify my computer will leak out my real IP address and a whole string of profiled activities on the web will be attributed to my computer. That's just not acceptable and is too much risk. You must not be forced to turn your VPN off!
To solve this, I created my own VPN service. My goals are to make it not too visible so it's on the down-low and keep it away from the radar of companies who want to block VPN's. Keep spammers away so we don't have to block email ever. And evade VPN detection by being pro-active in detecting blocking activities and keep moving the servers.
